“Greetings! I would like to extend a warm welcome to Lick My Crit game reviews. I hope you enjoy my review of Minecraft today. My name is Eric. Let me get this review started for you. Minecraft is an open world sandbox game set in a world made of blocks. Its rated for children 7 upwards, it has cartoon violence so its fine for children or adults to play. This game was made by Mojang studios and was later brought out by Microsoft. It is also multiplatform with support for Linux, Windows, PlayStation, Xbox and more. Ok now I will get into what you do in the game: You start out with nothing and then you gather resources to build a house, make tools to mine, fight enemies, and to farm. A big percentage of the game is allocated to mining for better armour and tools. At night monsters spawn and try to kill you. The main boss is the Ender Dragon. The Ender Dragon is found in the end game. The way you get there is going to a stronghold found underground and getting Eyes of Ender to activate the portal. After killing it you get a lot of experience and a dragon egg. Then there are 2 mini bosses, the first one being the Wither. You spawn it using 4 Soul Sand and 3 Wither Skeleton Skulls. Once killed the Wither gives you 1 nether star and a ton of experience. The last mini boss is the elder Guardian it spawns in the ocean monument, it is found under water in oceans. Once killed it gives you one wet sponge and experience. Your character is either Alex or Steve, no matter which character you pick, the game does not change, it is only the look and gender of your character you are changing. Alex is a female, and Steve is a male character. This game is 10 years old at the time of this review. It has changed a lot over those 10 years. This is what Minecraft used to look like: It was basic! All you could do was place blocks and remove them. And well… spawn Steves… that was all. Game Breakdown System requirements: Well, you really do not need a supercomputer to run this game. The specs you will need to run the vanilla game are: CPU: Intel Core i3 3210 | AMD A8 7600 APU or equivalent. RAM: 4 GB RAM. HDD: 180 MB to 1 GB available space. GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon R5 series | NVIDIA GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series Graphics Rating: 3out of10 The graphics are what you would expect: Blocky and pixelated. With a good graphics pack it looks nice. However, if you get the best pack you will need a NASA super-computer to run it. I rate it a solid 3out of10 for the vanilla version without mods. If you want good graphics, you will need: VRAM about 19GB VRAM, about 40GB RAM and 4.76GB of free storage space. Yes, those are real specs. I found them on the official Stratum website. Those specs are for the 2048x pack. There are also ones that are easy to run. Gameplay Rating:8out of10 The Gameplay is very good. The game controls nicely. Farming is really good fun, and trading with the villagers is also enjoyable as well. I rate the gameplay 8out of10 Audio Rating:10out of10 The sound effects are nice, the game has a great sound recording team. The creator of the music is excellent as well, my favourite song by far being c418. All up I give this a nice 10out of10. Grind Rating:6out of10 So, the grind is getting experience and mining for Netherite. Those are really grindy! Also, getting blocks to build with can be a big grind as well. The grind is worth the reward of having a nice castle and a full set of Netherite armour and tools, in my opinion. So, I am rating this a 6out of10. Story Rating:3out of10 There is no story, you make the story! People with creative imaginations will probably have a better time than those without. I have got to rate this one a 3out of10. People with really good imaginations might be able to squeeze a couple of extra points out it . Game Time Rating:5out of10 The game is infinite, but it does get boring after a while. I am rating this one a 5out of10 as well. Price Rating:7out of10 The price as of this review in Australian Dollars is $35.00 for the java edition. For the windows 10 edition its more like $40.00 and the windows 10, console and mobile editions have a micro transaction screen to buy Minecoins. Minecoins are used to buy maps and addons. I can’t really tell you the price of Minecoins, because I don’t play on the Windows 10 edition - So yeah, sorry about that! However, because the micro transactions are useless, I will rate the price a 7out of10. Bugs Rating: 7out of10 OK, I have got to admit there were quite a few bugs. To point out a couple for you: the minecart flying glitch and the boat flying glitch. However, the bugs did not break the game. I will rate the bugs a 7out of10 Game Review Wrap up Reviewers Overall Rating: 6out of10 In summary, Minecraft is an open world sandbox survival game with a lot to offer. My overall rating is 6out of10 Thank you for watching this review of Minecraft. This game review was brought to you by LickMyCrit.com. We look forward to you joining us for our next review!
