Text Comparison supports PDF files, text files and Microsoft Word or Excel files. This tie, we drag-and-drop our Source and Target files, it’s also possible to browse the files. The Source file is typically the reference file or for example the old version. The Target file is the new file, typically a pdf. Select a predefined Text setting for the comparison, it’s possible to select specific settings to fit the use case manually. Today we are going to use the settings template Normal for our comparison. To select the area for comparison, choose the area for the selection in the drop-down list or select the area manually on the next page, let me show you how. Here we have the Source file to the left, and the Target file to the right. Select the parts of the file page that should be included in the comparison. You can use the New selection option, do selections word by word or use the predefines selections templates, like the Select all for the Target page. Let’s move on to the Result page, here we have a list of the deviations found in the comparison. The Deviation view will show you an overview of the deviation on the page. You can manage the deviations from both the result page and in the view. Navigate between the deviations and make comments on them. The predefined auto-comments will simplify the process. Select Is Deviation if the deviation is real, and Not deviation if the deviation is an expected change of the document. Press the Analyze button to further inspect the deviations. When you are ready you can either proceed with a complete report or, for example, export the annotations made on the result page. Here we have the complete report of the comparison, made to be compliant to GMP requirements and FDA (Part11) standards. In the deviations list, the previously managed deviations is shown. The report can now be signed and saved locally in the database.
