Odisha, formerly called Orissa, state of India. Located in the northeastern part of the country, it is bounded by the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal to the north and northeast, by the Bay of Bengal to the east, and by the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to the south and Chhattisgarh to the west. Now lets talk about Maharashtra. Maharashtra, state of India, occupying a substantial portion of the Deccan plateau in the western peninsular part of the subcontinent. Its shape roughly resembles a triangle, with the 450-mile (725-km) western coastline forming the base and its interior narrowing to a blunt apex some 500 miles (800 km) to the east. Maharashtra is bounded by the Indian states of Gujarat to the northwest, Madhya Pradesh to the north, Chhattisgarh to the east, Telangana to the southeast, Karnataka to the south, and Goa to the southwest and by the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and the Arabian Sea to the west. There are many temples in maharashtra and the major ones are Shirdi temple, Grishneshwar jyotirlinga temple, yamai devi temple, Moreshwar temple and Trimbakeshwar jyotirlinga temple. Located approximately 258 km from Mumbai, shirdi sai baba temple maharashtra is one of the most popular temples here. This form is a combination of dance and music, which is dealt with different and varied topics such as society, religion, politics, romance, etc. So lets move on to the agricultural comparison in both the states Odisha is a state where a large population, more than 60%, depends on the income from the agriculture although it contributes merely 15% to the state GDP. Odisha is fast growing state of India, and the modern industry is just entering in the state. Farmers from some part of Odisha like Sambalpur, where the water is available throughout the year, takes two to three crops per year. But otherwise, the farming is done in the Monsoon season. The most preferred crop is paddy, which is also a primary staple food and rice is preferred with the fish. Favourite rice recipe is famous 'Pakhala' especially in the summer season. Tribals ferment the boiled rice mixed with herbs to make Handia. While Maharashtra is a leading State in agriculture. Principal crops grown in the State are rice, jowar, bajra, wheat, tur, mung, urad, gram and other pulses. The State is a major producer of oilseeds. Groundnut, sunflower, soyabean are the major oil seed crops. The important cash crops are cotton, sugarcane, turmeric and vegetables. State is pioneer in onion production in the country. Best quality grapes produced in the State are now exported to other countries. Mango, particularly 'Alphanso', grown in Konkan, has already established name in the international market. And now lets have a look on the atmosphere of both the states In releif features, highest mountain of odisha is Deomali (in Eastern Ghats)of 1672 m and of Maharashtra is kalsubai peak(in western Ghats) of 1646m. In temperature there is not that much difference between odisha and Maharashtra Highest temperature of odisha is 47.5°C and Highest temperature of maharashtra is 46.5°C . Where as lowest temperature of odisha is 9.4°C and of Maharashtra is 11.6°C In coastline comparison Maharashtra has a coastline of 720 km where as odisha have 480 km. Now lets talk about the animals which thrive in Odisha's and Maharashtra's Climate. In Orrisa there are wildlife sanctuaries like Cheilika Wildlife Sanctuary, Kotagarh Wildlife sanctuary ,hadahgarh wildlife sanctuary, nandankanan zoological park and simplipal national park, which consists of animals like the tigers, leopards, a range of jungle cats, crocodile, hippopotamous and etc., Whereas in maharashtra there are sanctuaries like Pench National Park, Navegaon National park, Bhimashankar wildlife sanctuary , radhanagari bison sanctuary and bor wildlife sanctucary, where animals like Bison, Pench tiger, Indian bustard, Indian bulshark , indian grey francolin and wild leopards survive.
