On behalf of the Australian Legal Counsel, I offer you a warm welcome to the A-L-C internship orientation. My name is Zara Chen and I will be your Internship Supervisor. We have a long history offering immersive legal experiences for future lawyers of Australia. We are proud to have you join us and look forward to seeing your development with real-world problems over the next 6 weeks. As part of your onboarding, please review and sign the A-L-C Declaration and post your introduction video. Given the recent impact of the pandemic on work and life, this internship will, for the first time be delivered completely remotely. Engaging with each other in a variety of modes will be incredibly critical to maintaining team communication, collaboration, and collegiality. I encourage you to take some time to connect with other interns – including those outside your immediate team. Should you have any questions, please use the Comments Section at the bottom of each A-L-C page to communicate them to me. This way, we can maintain transparency and clear communications amongst all interns. We’ve just logged a community consultation this morning, so as soon as you finish onboarding, you and your team can jump into Project 1. The whole A-L-C team is excited to have you join us and we look forward to seeing your creative, logical, and persuasive work over the coming weeks.
