Cellular respiration is a set of metabolic reactions and processes that take place in the cells of organisms to convert chemical energy from oxygen molecules or nutrients into adenosine triphosphate, and then release waste products. Why is cellular respiration important? Because living organisms generate energy with cellular respiration, in plants and animals cellular respiration takes place at the mitochondria. Think of the mitochondria as the power plant of the cell because the energy of the cell is generated at the mitochondria. At the mitochondria, sugar combines with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide plus water and energy in the energy in the form of ATP. Now you learned what those two means then you could answer the questions on your exam easily now go and get that high score.
