Now listen to two students discussing the article. M: So what do you think about the change? W: Are you talking about the university newspaper’s decision? M: Yup W: I think it’s a great idea. It’s the right thing to do. M: Really? How come? W: Well, hardly anyone reads that section. I mean none of my friends read it. M: Is that so? W: The international news section only covers a few stories, and most of the people already heard the news before reading the campus newspaper. M: I guess you’re right. If you read the local newspapers or look at the internet, you already know what’s going on. W: Exactly. And there is much more information as well. I think the newspaper should just stick with campus news. M: So do you think replacing the section with a calendar is better? W: Of course. Right now, how do you know what’s going on around campus? M: Well I look at the posters on the different buildings, or the student center. W: Exactly. The information is everywhere! So it’s hard to keep track of it. I forget half of the announcements I see on the posters. With the new calendar section, I can just cut out the calendar, check it out anytime, and not lose track of what’s going on around campus. M: Seems like a good idea!
