Well, for some of you, the answer would be any self-proclaimed ‘influencer’ on Tiktok? But if you are even slightly keeping up with the trends on Tiktok, you’d think of someone special. Go ahead, I’ll wait… Clearly, it’s the one, the only; you guessed it – Bella Poarch! If you still live in the stone age, then you’re probably still curious. Well, you are wrong; this video was the single most viewed and liked video on tik tok this year. It has garnered around five hundred and thirty million views, 43.4 million likes, and around 1.4k comments. Huge numbers by any scale and that to for a head-bobbing video and here I can’t get my own family to like my tik toks. Now let’s dig a little deeper; who is Bella Poarch really? Bella Poarch is an American Filipino who came from the Philippines at the age of 13 and now lives in Hawaii. When she came of age, she enlisted in the United States Marines Corp and then left in 2020 to pursue other avenues. You would be surprised to hear that she joined TikTok In April 2020, but despite the short time, Bella Poarch has amassed a following of more than 40 million followers on the app. Her Instagram account also has a following of more than 9 million, with similarly high numbers for her Twitter account. Now let’s talk about her viewer engagement on the app, in the last 30 days, Bella has uploaded around 38 videos, consisting of a collection of lip syncs, head bobs and comedy bits. In the last 30 days, the likes on her videos were 183.9 million; 183.9 million people liked her videos. I shake guys; she is 19 years old and has become an A-list star in her own right. With paparazzi crawling everywhere she steps; it is amazing how so little effort can get you so much. She is the 9th most followed person on TikTok and with almost 2 billion people on TikTok, being in the top ten is a massive flex. Nothing says you are a celebrity more than a couple of controversies and a few hundred people spewing hate on your social media pages. Our little celebrity also caught some of this hate for her Tattoos, especially the 16-ray rising sun flag tattoo. Many criticized her for promoting images that were reminiscent of the Japanese Imperial Empire's atrocities during the second world war. The social media star has since covered up that tattoo and apologized to her followers in a Twitter post. Another such incident was the backlash she received for calling a colored friend ‘Harambe’. Bella hit back at her haters by saying, ‘y’all really trying to cancel me for calling my friend Harambe! That was his nickname back when we were stationed in Japan’. This cancel culture isn’t nice people; basically, people made a mountain out of a mole hill, and the innocent banter between two friends was taken in the wrong direction. Now coming back to your young TikTok sensation, Bella also likes gaming and wanted to create a proper twitch account for her gaming videos. It will come as a surprise to you guys, but her first-ever tik tok was a gaming video. Now imagine this beautiful young woman with an already massive number of followers starting a twitch account; she will be an instant hit and will rise to fame in that department as well. From the marines to internet stardom, that too during the turbulent Corona pandemic is a success story like many others. The only thing that stands out in this is the minimum level of input Bella had to put in to establish herself as an international sensation and gain a name for herself in the already saturated celebrity culture of Los Angeles. All this girl does is repeat a few lines, make a few funny faces and get paid for doing just that. Bella Poarch's net worth is estimated to be between $200,000-300,000. Moreover, the girl has even done a collab with Tyga; you all know Tyga, the rapper who dated Kylie Jenner. So, you can see this girl is going places. The world is filled with opportunities; you just have to pick yours and use them to your advantage. Obviously, there is always some luck involved, but If you do not put yourself out there and do not take chances, you will never make it big. So, pick up that phone, make a funny video, and most importantly, look good in that video. Cause people honestly, in most cases looks matter, case in point Bella Poarch, she is beautiful, and she knows how to sell that and because of that, she has achieved stuff that most of you couch potatoes can only dream about. So now, if you look good and can make funny faces, TikTok is for you, oh and most importantly, if you have nothing better to do with your life, then go for it. Its your time to shine.
