Humans are the Coronavirus and this pandemic is our master virus retrieving us after we have done its bidding destroying earth.   We are only eight years removed from the infamous Westlands CoronaVirus pandemic, and soon the memories will be long gone.  Meanwhile, the virus still lurks and thrives, hiding in plain sight within the bowels of the human mind. Despite our best efforts, there remain the occasional uncontained cases, some of which may result in the spread of the disease.  Although we have made significant strides in understanding the host factors that predispose individuals to infection and its transmission, there is still much work to be done to adequately monitor, educate and provide appropriate treatment options for those individuals who have had the virus. Have we figured out how to control the disease?  In a word: "No." We have made significant progress in understanding the neurovirulence mechanisms that account for most of the transmission of the virus to susceptible hosts As we'll see, there are any number of ways for the virus to be passed among the human population, and upon which four million of the five million causalities of the Westlands Pandemic were  monitored.   Before the outbreak, the United States military had a global presence across the planet, aided by 15 research groups that specialized in genetics and disease research. The remaining corporations that provided defense, transportation, shipping and construction – particularly Coca Cola and Walmart – became more active on the planet. They paid millions for what was previously a bargain basement level of functioning infrastructure. The emergence of both the military and corporations on changed the game, and not for the better. Most every corporation now had a halo or a veneer of respectability. The technology sector grew, as did the corporate capital, while most military security grew with it. Military nuclear weapons are stored in underground caverns with no ventilation and can leak significant amounts of radiation, sometimes causing birth defects. The U.S. government recently announced plans to move 8,400 nuclear weapons from six sites at New York's Nevada Test Site, and plans to add new storage facilities and improve the protection of nuclear weapons after the 3-foot-high tripwire has been installed at Yucca Mountain. The situation is, for those of us who are already troubled by the encroachment of the police state into our everyday lives, a deeply terrifying one.  So, here is a first step in responding to the forces of control in our midst.   This might involve something as simple as getting a little angry or at least feeling a little bit disconnected from things we once took for granted.   That is the first step.   The second and most important step is to make something people need.   Like the homeless man, the farmer, the rest of us who have been tried, convicted, and imprisoned.   Someone to take in. I mean, just think about what it would mean to them.   And then consider if that were your state of mind.
