Nowadays, families do not have close relationships like they once had. Explain what you think the reasons are for this and state your opinion on how this problem can be solved. Family members used to have lifelong close relationships, mainly because they lived together or close by and therefore had more daily communication with each other. However, modern families are not as close as they used to be. I think that there are two main reasons for this, and that with a little conscious effort, this contemporary issue can be resolved. In many countries, people now emphasise individualism and value pursuing their own goals and dreams. This does not necessarily mean that we no longer love our families. It just shows that there has been a shift in the balance of what we consider important in our lives. Unfortunately, chasing our dreams often involves investing more of our time in study or work, leaving less time for family. There is a need for us to be conscious about finding a healthy balance between the time we make for ourselves and the time we set aside for our families. Another reason why family bonds are not as tight as before is that people often feel somewhat connected with their families through modern technology. As ironic as it may be, knowing that we can easily call or text our loved ones anytime makes us subconsciously lazy about actually reaching out to them. We need to be aware that just feeling connected is not enough and that we must make the effort to actually communicate with our families, preferably in person. Families are becoming less connected with each other due to modern changes in lifestyle. It is impossible to reverse these modern changes, so we need to learn to consciously make the time and effort to stay connected with our loved ones.
