Vietjet has expanded its fleet with the addition of a new Airbus A321neo ACF aircraft, registered as VNA516, bringing its total to 117 modern aircraft. This milestone coincides with the launch of new direct routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Nagoya and Fukuoka in Japan, enhancing travel options for passengers. These developments are part of Vietjet’s 2025 expansion strategy, aimed at improving travel convenience and fostering cultural and economic ties across the AsiaPacific region. The new aircraft arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on April 25, 2025, after a delivery flight from Hamburg, Germany. It will be deployed during Vietnam’s secondlargest national holiday period, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day alongside Labor Day, to meet heightened travel demand. The A321neo ACF features a modern cabin with improved seat dimensions and spacing for a superior inflight experience. It also offers significant environmental benefits, including a 20 reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and a 50 decrease in noise pollution compared to older aircraft models. This marks Vietjet’s third aircraft addition in 2025, with plans to integrate more Airbus and Boeing planes throughout the year. This strategy reinforces Vietjet’s commitment to maintaining a dynamic and efficient fleet, positioning it as a leader in the region’s aviation industry. Concurrently, Vietjet has bolstered its international network with new direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Nagoya and Fukuoka. The Nagoya route operates four weekly roundtrip flights, while Fukuoka has three. Both inaugural flights were celebrated with water salutes upon arrival in Japan, signaling the significance of these connections. Vietjet’s expansion extends beyond Japan, with four new routes linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Beijing and Guangzhou in China. These services, alongside recent routes to India and the upcoming Phu Quoc–Singapore route in May, highlight Vietjet’s ambitious 2025 growth plan. By continuously expanding its fleet and international network, Vietjet enhances travel accessibility and promotes economic and cultural exchange across the AsiaPacific. The airline solidifies its role as a leading newage carrier, connecting Vietnam to key global destinations.
