I am Timoleonte also called Timoleóne. From a noble Corinthian family, I had a comfortable and peaceful childhood and, as is customary, I undertook a military career holding positions of considerable importance. In 406 BC, sent to the aid of Akragas, ruined by the civil war that had produced squalor and emigration, I reconstituted its magistracy, senate and popular assembly. Then recalling thousands of colonists to their homeland and assigning them the task of repairing walls and temples and erecting new buildings, I enabled the city to rise again more beautiful and sumptuous than before. I would say that I can modestly consider myself the second founder of Akragas
