Welcome to my city. I am Gèllia, who lived in the fifth century BC. Owner of lands, houses and boundless vineyards, I was considered a very powerful man indeed. With Antistene, my fellow citizen who was equally rich, I represented the Akragantine opulence of my time. It has been calculated, think about it, that the territorial extension, of my winery alone, was around 145 hectares. Modestly, I was perhaps the richest man in the city. However, I am remembered mostly for the generosity and hospitality towards foreigners to whom I gave shelter and comfort.
