Hello I am Aristònoo, literally exalted mind. I am modestly one of the two founders of Akragas to which I gave origin, together with Pistilo and some inhabitants of Gela, in 580 BC. Like Pistilo, I was called ecista that is, expedition leader and, in the new city founded, I was given the task of transmitting the civil and religious traditions of our motherland. What makes me truly proud is that, in a very short time, the small village of artisans, breeders and farmers governed by us, later became one of the most flourishing and important cities of Sicily and Magna Graecia, thanks also to the wise leadership of some of our successor Tyrants who are responsible for the consolidation of the city and its physical and political expansion, through new conquests.
