Mr Wilson asked his daughter, “Why did you come home so late last night?” She said she had been out dancing with some friends and hadn’t noticed the time. “But you woke me up when you came in. I looked at my watch and I found that it was two o’clock in the morning. That was much too late for a young girl.” Her father shouted. She replied, “After the dance William, my boyfriend and I and another couple went to William’s flat for a cup of coffee. We sat talking for an hour or so and I didn’t realise how late it was. William told us he had seen the last film with Anthony Hopkins and everybody was interested in what he said. I’m very sorry, Dad. It won’t happen again. Promise.” “Don’t do that again! I’ve told you so many times to come home before midnight. It is dangerous hanging around after midnight. Don’t you read the papers? Don’t you listen to the news? So many incidents happen after midnight with all those drunk people around! Never forget that the early bird gets the worm!” Mr Wilson reminded her that she was still under eighteen and had to obey her parents, who knew what was the best for her. The daughter whispered “What about the worm?”
