Charles Wilson had just come back home from work and was relaxing on his favourite armchair. He was reading the evening paper and listening to some music on the radio. The telephone rang. It was Mrs Hill, her neighbour who lives nearby. “Why don’t you come around and have a drink and a chat?” asked Mrs Hill. The Wilsons went to the Hills soon after dinner. They had a few drinks and a chat. Time passed quickly and it was pretty late when the Wilsons left their friends’ house. Unfortunately, when they got home they found they had had a visitor. The house was in a great mess. Everything was upside down. The thief or the thieves had stolen their money and even the necklace Charles had given his wife for her birthday. They called the police. They arrived in no time. They wrote a list of all the things that had been robbed. They said this sort of things was happening more and more these days and they said they would do their best to find the burglar or the burglars. The Wilsons were up all night to clear up the mess.
