Carlo and his girlfriend Linda went to England for their holidays last summer. One day they took a train to Cambridge. It was a peaceful journey and all you could hear was the noise the train made. In their compartment there was a distinguished-looking man wearing a pinstriped suit. He was reading The Times. Linda took some sandwiches out of her bag. She gave some to Carlo who turned towards the gentleman, “Would you like one?” He asked. “No, thank you. I’ve just had my breakfast.” The gentleman replied. Half an hour later, Carlo took out his cigarettes. Once again, he asked his fellow traveller, “Would you like a cigarette?” The gentleman looked up and said. “No, thank you. I don’t smoke.” Then Linda whispered to Carlo, “Maybe he’s acting like that because you haven’t introduced me to him.” Carlo thought for a few seconds, then stood up and pointing to Linda he said, “My fiancée.” The gentleman blushed. “That’s very kind of you, but I’m already engaged.” The gentleman answered.
