It was Kerry’s birthday and she invited all her friends. Her mother recommended her not to invite all her classmates because her house wasn’t so large. But Kerry is a party girl and she invited not only her schoolfriends but also some acquaintances. Her mother isn’t a good cook. So, she called her grandmother and asked her: “Can you help me to cook tomorrow? “Why? Are you going to have a party?” she wanted to know. She had completely forgotten that it was Kerry’s birthday. Anyway, she was very happy to help her. They spent all the afternoon making cakes, sandwiches and so on. The food was very good and Kerry’s friends enjoyed it a lot. They ate everything. Kerry’s granny wanted to buy her granddaughter a present. “What would you like?” she asked. “Some earrings, granny” answered Kerry. “What earrings do you want me to buy?” asked the granny. “That’s easy” answered Kerry. “Go into a shop, look at some earrings and then buy the ones you don’t like.”
