Alan and Jane had just got married. They were on their way to the airport to catch a flight to Canary Islands, where they were going to spend their honeymoon. As they had a bit of time in hand, they decided to stop at Stratford on Avon to have a look around. They had read so much about Shakespeare and they didn’t want to miss the chance to have a look at his birthplace. They parked the car and went for a walk along the river. When they got back to the car, it had all gone: their suitcases and tickets and passports in them. Everything! In the cases there were also their credit card. Alan and Jane could not believe their eyes. At first, they thought it was a joke. They thought some of their friends had followed them and taken their stuff out of the car as a joke; Maybe they were hiding behind a tree watching the scene and laughing their head off. But it wasn’t so. They went to the police in Stratford and gave them all their details but there wasn’t much more they could do. Alan and Jane had to drive back home to deal with the insurance and things. Jane worked in a bank, so she was able to sort the problems about the stolen credit card quite easily. The travel agent managed to fix them up with another holiday in Greece in about two weeks’ time. They will be having another honeymoon after all.
