Henry has an excellent job at a bank. His father couldn’t believe his ears when he told him that he had decided to give up. His father tried to make him change his mind but in vain. “You should reconsider your decision. You have already spent five years in the bank and you could have a wonderful career.” Henry answered, “I know it’s a pleasant job.” “Then why do you want to leave?” asked his father. Henry answered, “All I do now is to count money. I find it very depressing. I enjoy counting my own money, but I hate counting other peoples’ money!” This reminded his father that when Henry was a boy he took him on a trip to a country. He wanted to show him how poor someone can be. They spent a time in a farm of a poor family. On their return from the trip the father asked the boy, “How was the trip? “It was great, Dad.” “Did you see how poor people live?” “Yes” said Henry. “What did you learn from the trip?” Little Henry answered “We have one dog, they have four, we have a pool, they have rivers, we have lights at night, they have stars, we buy foods, they grow theirs, we have television, they spend time with family and relatives. Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”
