When it came to the different regions there was a strong consistency between them. However each region has its own reputational wins and push points to tackle, this can be done through nuanced messaging. We think of them as being part of the same family but having different t shirts, this makes sense when each teams culture is strongly driven by the partners Which is why we’re weary of painting a picture that our talent experiences are ubiquitous across the board because that would be untrue. So we’ve pinpointed 5 reasons to believe for each region and can see a story start to form For the UK, Continental Europe and India the story is that: Talent joint to be a part of a prestigious firm and are satisfied by challenging and impactful work. They value being part of a collaborative culture and are privy to international growth opportunities all while being under a firm thats committed to Diversity Equity and inclusion. There’s strong consistency when we move to Asia however the difference is international growth opportunities was slightly more favoured, with the prevalence of DE&I coming through more in this region. And then finally we’ve taken Australia out of APAC and grouped it with the US because there are a lot more parallels within their stories. Still had similarities but the main difference here is that its a growth story, you're working in the confines of a prestigious network but it has a challenger / start-up feel to it as both firms are focused on growth and building up a strong local reputation. Lot’s of people noted these offices having a start up feel with the backing of a prestigious network. We also found the work life balance and collaborative culture to be particularly unique in the US One of the stakeholders we spoke to put it nicely and said: Work life balance isn’t just about having flexibility with hybrid working/ having different deadlines. At CC, our people actually have an interest in hobbies, prioritize families. They’re amazing and i hope we retain them because they're all just very interesting people I have the privilege to work with.” ________________________ These similarities carried over when we started to look at roles. We found there to be a real Clifford chance type which was people with the prestigious qualifications you would expect but the firm takes a more holistic approach that you wouldn’t necessary expect. Caring about the people behind the qualifications. Personality over university and background. The traits we saw over and over again were that your people are dedicated, high-performing team players but with resilence and creativity to think outside the box. Inquisitive and thoughtful. Me and Hanni actually found it quite hard to decipher the business professionals from the lawyers when we were hosting the focus groups… Which is just a testament to the calibre of individuals you employ. Let's jump into the 5 reasons to believe for each of our role segments As expected, we could see that early talent care more about the reputation and training. As you move up in seniority, the nature of the work starts to become more and more important; talent prioritise interesting and challenging work. At a partner level, the entrepreneurial mindset starts to kick-in and these people want to be part of and play a role shaping the future of a high growth firm. So there’s a nice step by step story starting to develop to illustrate trajectory of these peoples careers. They get the world class training, start to care about the type of work more as they specialise and get to a level where it's about pushing it the work and the firm forward. Finally, the story we need to tell for Business Professionals is that: They want to become integrated in a culture thats truly collaborative and are attached to a prestigious name. We found them to be particularly interested in the firm’s commitment to de&I, this also came through strongly in the all firm survey. They get inspired by high performing exceptional colleagues and benefit from the international network that Clifford chance gives them access to. ________________________ So those were the main differences between regions and roles, I guess it’s over to you guys for discussion, does that resonate ? Is it what you expected?
