Hate and love both have four letters, enemies and friends have seven, lying and truth have five, failure and success have seven, and cry and joy have three. And even more astonishingly, negativity and positivity both have ten letters. This serves as a powerful reminder that amid life's challenges, we always have a choice. We can choose the better side, embracing love, friendship, truth, success, joy, and positivity. But to truly exercise our power of choice, we must be in the driver's seat of our own lives. If we relinquish control, life will steer us in unknown directions. So, I ask you, do you want to be the architect of your own destiny? Do you want to shape your own future, guided by your dreams and aspirations? Embrace this opportunity to take charge and forge your own path. Having a vision for our lives is essential, even if we don't have a fully fleshed-out plan. We need a direction, a compass that guides us toward our chosen destination. As the saying goes, "I never was the kind of person who I want to be." It reminds us to be proactive, to actively pursue what we desire rather than passively accepting whatever comes our way. In my personal journey, I have been fortunate to have the support of my brother, who has been a pillar of strength and guidance. Along the way, I have also shared remarkable moments with Geoff and Ellen. Their smiles have been a light in anger and frustration. However, I must acknowledge that I no longer have them by my side. Instead, I have Jill, Tomtit, and Najibullah, individuals whose choices are guided by love, friendship, truth, success, joy, and positivity. They have brought immense value to my life. And in moments of darkness, when the stars and light seemed absent, High Bluff Academy (HBA) emerged as a beacon of hope, shining like a star in my sky. The challenging situation in Afghanistan has made me appreciate the power of resilience and the ability to find light even in the darkest times. In particular, I want to express my gratitude for Ellen, who has been a source of inspiration and laughter despite her own difficult circumstances. Her genuine laughter has provided solace and comfort during moments of fatigue and weariness. On this special day, as we bid farewell to our academic journey, I want to reflect on the goodness of Ellen and Geoff. Their presence has brought joy and laughter into my life, and their absence will be deeply felt. They have been a reminder of the importance of cherishing the connections we make along our journey, for they shape us in ways we may not even realize. In conclusion, let us embrace the power of choice, always striving to choose the better side. Let us take hold of the steering wheel and drive our own lives with purpose and intention. Even if our vision is not yet crystal clear, let us have a direction in which we choose to go.
