City View Church Mission City View Church is planting a new Church, organization and establishing a new community of believers who wish to serve the Lord, in Downtown Houston. We are driven by the desire to spread the Christian faith, create spaces for worship, and build communities centered around Jesus Christ’s teachings, as a Interdenominational Church. We believe the importance of Church planting is not overstated. New Churches play a crucial role in evangelism, reaching out to individuals who have not had the opportunity to experience the Christian faith. We will provide a spiritual home for believers, fostering growth, discipleship, and a sense of belonging. Bringing a new church to the Downtown area in an effort to bring innovation and vitality to the Downtown community, introducing fresh perspectives and approaches to ministry. Out vision offers an opportunity for those who attend to deepen their faith, develop leadership skills, and engage in meaningful service for them and their families to be involved in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. A brand new Interdenominational church in the downtown Houston area is a source of hope, support, and positive change, addressing the spiritual and social needs of the community. As a Interdenominational Church we believe, contributes to the growth and diversity of the Christian faith, enabling it to thrive across different cultures and contexts. Building a core team of committed individuals who share the vision is essential for providing leadership and support. Ongoing outreach, discipleship, and community engagement are necessary to maintain and grow the congregation once the church is established. So as we grow, we pray those who wish to be a part of a new Interdenominational Church and its Biblical perspectives. Church planting is a vital endeavor in the Christian faith, involving the establishment of this new church to spread the Gospel and build communities of believers. The practice’s importance lies in its potential to reach new people, provide spiritual nourishment, and contribute to the vitality of the Christian Church, which is the body of Christ. There is no local or global disciple making without church planting. Period. The future of Christianity and of God’s mission rests on this practice. Church planting, then, is not just one of many different strategies and practices that respond to the Great Commission of Jesus. It is the best strategy and the best practice. Church planting best fulfills the directives and goals of the Great Commission because as Churches are planted in every city of every nation, disciples are made in that nation just as Christ commanded should be done. The Apostle Paul’s theology and practice make Church planting integral to God's mission. Paul's missiology of church planting fuelled his missionary journeys. His training and appointing of local leadership in new churches filled with new believers reveals his desire to multiply the global through the local church. Paul ran the race and fought the fight of church planting. 2 Tim 4:7 This cursory review or preliminary Bible study on the topic strongly suggests that Church planting should be at the tip of the missional spear. The Great Commission of Jesus, the Book of Acts, and the theology and practice of the Apostle Paul demand it. Planting Churches, therefore matters in 2024 not only because there will still be a majority of people who do not know Jesus. It matters because there will also be a robust minority of Christians who can assess their role and calling in the outworking of the mission of God.
