Hello everyone, and welcome to our presentation on "Empowering Women for a Healthier Tomorrow: Menstrual Health for All." Today, we'll be sharing our sustainable action plan to support the advancement of Sustainable Our journey began with a shared grief over the impact of COVID, where discrimination towards certain people became evident. One of our group members shared a heartbreaking experience about her grandmother being denied a bed during COVID due to financial constraints. This motivated us to address the inequalities in healthcare. We chose SDG 3 for three significant reasons. Firstly, achieving accessible and affordable healthcare can positively impact other sustainability goals, such as reducing inequalities and alleviating poverty. Secondly, healthcare is a universal right for everyone, regardless of differences. And lastly, investing in health contributes to a more productive economy. Canada has taken notable steps in achieving SDG 3, with three ambition statements focusing on healthy behaviors, satisfying lives, and preventing premature death. Programs like CAPC, CPNP, and AHSUNC are specifically designed to support vulnerable groups. The Canadian Food Guide and the Canadian Indicator Framework further indicate the country's commitment to progress. In India, efforts are underway to address healthcare challenges, such as the National Health Mission, Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme, and programs for the elderly. These initiatives aim to provide affordable and quality healthcare to all, especially the underprivileged. Now, let's delve into our sustainable action plan - "Menstrual Health for Women." We chose this plan due to its potential to empower women, eliminate stigma, and improve overall well-being. However, we acknowledge potential struggles. Cultural barriers, lack of education, and financial constraints can hinder our objectives. Yet, we are determined to overcome these obstacles. Our second action plan focuses on a "Vaccination Outreach Program" to mitigate the impact of healthcare emergencies. Though equally crucial, we have chosen "Menstrual Health for Women" for its profound impact. We aim to address vaccination hesitancy and logistical challenges in reaching remote areas, ensuring our plan is comprehensive and impactful. We chose "Menstrual Health for Women" because we believe it aligns with the essence of SDG 3, promoting inclusivity, and addresses a critical aspect of women's health. To achieve our goals, we need your support. We plan to involve women NGOs, community leaders, healthcare professionals, and volunteers. Workshops, educational materials, and affordable menstrual hygiene products are crucial resources. Our success will be measured by increased awareness, improved accessibility to menstrual hygiene products, and a significant reduction in menstrual health-related stigma. We have set a timeline to achieve our goals. The first phase includes implementing awareness programs, followed by a reduction in product prices and promotion of menstrual education. By the end of 2025, menstrual products will be available for free. In conclusion, we invite you to join us on this journey towards a healthier, more equitable world. Let's collectively contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 3 and make a lasting impact on the well-being of women and society as a whole. Thank you for your attention.
