To whom it may concern. As the school counselor, it is a remarkable enthusiasm that I'm recognized to recommend on behalf of my reputed student Mr. Thiong Atem Thiong whom I have known for over 4 years since he joined. Thiong is a tremendous student who appreciates coming upon contemporary things in his life. Being an intelligent, leveled, and integrated student, he never looks back or stops going, no matter how hard things are. He is dedicated to his education and will strive to attain his objectives, as evidenced by his academic and personal accomplishments. He is a confident student and has a lively, outgoing, and friendly nature that makes him highly compatible with others in any environment. Since my career as a teacher, I have come across a few students of which Thiong was outstanding because once he realized a problem, he analyzed it and figured out a solution but if it was beyond his capability, he didn't sit back, he sought support from others. I remember a time when his father misunderstood him about the money the school requested for visiting John Garang Mausoleum, he gave me his father's contact to tell him what the school needed the money for to prove his father wrong. To any university, he wishes to join, please I urge you to grab him because he is rare to get. I don't distrust him because he portrayed all the qualities required to succeed in any atmosphere of the competitive institution he yearns to join, and has been one of our academic giants. In the classroom, Thiong has been an extraordinary student who has shown great compassion for his studies, he passed all the science subjects with remarkable grades and has been among the best three in the classroom. He maintained his position by engaging in group discussions and attending classes regularly, and he never hesitated to approach any colleague or instructor for help in case he was stuck. He formed a Club called MR(Math Researchers) as a group discussion base when he realized students were declining in Mathematics which was the key subject and one of the mandatory courses required when seeking admission to higher institutions. The club is now superior in aiding students with math analytical concepts and none of the students is failing in the school. He doesn't pretend to be busy when students approach him for any help, Thiong shared his knowledge with students on the campus, which made him a role model for the students but still, no one outcompeted him. Being a self-esteem student, Thiong Atem was friendly to the entire school; he was Nicknamed Patrick Lumumba. In every class, he entered the students would want him to talk for a long time because he primarily emphasized social relationships. The teachers were always pleased with him because whenever he is assigned a duty he performs it without a doubt. As I watched him grow into The Head Boy of Salaam Secondary, he possessed the true image of a good leader; he would motivate his colleagues to have a strong desire for education. Whether it's giving advice or lending a hand to help, he urged students to be determined, self-respectful, and hard-working towards academics and wanted everyone to participate in school extracurricular activities. His advice was given attention and considered by all the students. Whenever there is any General Assembly held he would like every student's voice heard and attended to by the management regardless of the questions raised. He didn't stop there; he came up with an idea aiming if there was any way the administration would help the low-income students to continue with their studies since they were running out of financial backing. With his recruited team he requested a student-administration meeting on behalf of the general student body. As I write this letter now our school is the most demanded High School in town because of the half bursary offered to those who are unable to pay their tuition fees completely. This achievement is noted in our school journal as one of the greatest ones obtained at Salaam High School in his presence. Outside the classroom, Thiong participated in miscellaneous extracurricular activities such as debate, Music, and football in which he exhibited his affection and success in them. He joined the Salaam Debate Club in 2019 and became the chairman when the administration saw how enthusiastic he was. As the chairman of the Debate Club and speaker of the school, he participated in inter-school debate competitions held at the Regional level where he brought home 2 trophies. In addition to his debate achievement, Thiong was also an active member of the school's Music Club with his vocals he sang for the school when an important event was taking place. Thiong was appointed as the Captain of the school team for over 3 years because of his love for football and how he led the team by giving fantastic advice. In 2020 an inter-school tournament was organized and our school won the trophy. This remained a legacy of his great achievement even though it was the only trophy that our school won since we started participating in the competition. We termed him as a multi-club student and with all the great work he did in these clubs we pride him on succeeding in every aspect of life that may come his way. To the underprivileged communities around us, Thiong was an awesome blessing because, after the completion of High School, he formed a van association named TF(Team Forward) and requested the whole community to participate by each family contributing 15,000 SSP for the betterment of tomorrow's future. He elucidated that the main reason is to sponsor children, especially girls at school, to become leaders and not stay idly immersed in nasty masquerades causing chaos. As a cultural enthusiast, Thiong formed a group dubbed Old School Dancers composed of members from different backgrounds to advocate for cultural diversity and inclusion. His squad was rated the best and when he was interviewed by the Secretary General of the South Sudan Youth Association he exclaimed that he wanted to see an atmosphere where different traits, beliefs, practices, and perspectives of individuals are respected and valued. His team is the current patriot that is recognized to perform whenever an important guest has come to the communities around us. Lastly, Thiong's personality never made him look at other students as a misfortune. Though he was not perfect Thiong was always smart and intelligent in handling issues and solving them suitably. The whole school is looking forward to raising a student who advocates for fairness and could give bright orations like Thiong. The triumph he brought to the school will forever be acknowledged and relished, he exemplified that failure is not a weakness but a lesson that can't stop him from fulfilling his goals. Thiong Atem is a steady student who will be an asset in either academic rendition or the school's extracurricular activities at your prestigious University. I believe he is going to illuminate the environment and it will be a great pleasure to witness my alumnus graduating with an honored degree in your institution. Thank you for taking the time to read this recommendation. Please if you want to inquire anything about Mr. Thiong Atem don't hang back to reference me.
