18. If you happen to go to York, don’t forget to miss a visit to one of the most famous pubs called Snickleway. It has been bought and sold hundreds of times because it is haunted. Mr Thomson is the last person who bought it. He too is going to sell it because of the ghost. He told a journalist that he couldn’t go to sleep one night because he heard a strange noise coming from the bar. The next morning, he found the doors blocked by chairs and all the furniture upside down. All the books had been scattered on the floor. All the lights were on, even if Mrs Thompson makes sure that they are off before locking the doors and going to bed. He also said that he had found five empty whisky bottles the ghost must have drunk the night before. The journalist suggested that some villagers might have broken into the pub for a free drink. Mr Thomson shook his head. The villagers have told that they will never accept that inn even if he gives it away.
