Today, I'm going to discuss why the implementation of automation in repetitive jobs is crucial. Let's imagine I handed each of you a piece of paper and instructed you to write your name 1000 times. Engaging in such a repetitive task is not only boring but also time-consuming. Many companies employ staff to carry out repetitive duties. However, through automation, we can eliminate tasks like these, which can greatly benefit a company. The first benefit automation gives is it allows us to complete tasks more quickly and accurately, while also saving money. If you ran a business, would you want to pay slow workers every hour to complete simple tasks, or would you prefer to use automation? Most people would choose to use automation because it's more precise, efficient, and cheaper than normal workers. We all know and love Elon Musk well APPARENTLY; his company Tesla uses automation in the manufacturing process of its cars, resulting in a total labor cost of $2,387 per car and a production rate of 1.31 million cars per year, resulting in a $53.8 billion revenue. Now imagine a Tesla without automation. Without automation, Tesla labor costs would increase, and their production rate would reduce, which is exactly why automation is important. When we look at the economic impact of automation on a broader scale, we can see that there is a relationship between automation; this is because automation is more efficient than manual labor and should therefore be implemented in more places. The second benefit is that using automation is safer. Humans are fragile, and many workplaces involve dangerous tasks. For example, in mining operations, workers face the risk of injury and exposure to harmful gasses. Automated mining machines, however, are immune to these dangers. So by replacing workers who perform dangerous tasks with automated machinery, we can reduce the risk of injuries to workers. Repetitive tasks can also cause physical strain in workers. According to statistics, the number of workers suffering from work-related musculoskeletal disorders in 2020/2021 stood at around 470,000. But if we get automation to complete the repetitive tasks instead of using manual labor, we can decrease the number of workers who suffer from these musculoskeletal disorders. A commonly seen form of automation that has already been implemented in many workplaces is things such as fire alarms and smoke detectors. Because of these automated safety systems, many people have been able to stay safe at work. Which shows that automation should be implemented. People believe that we should reduce the amount of automation to increase employment rates. This is true; if we reduce automation, there would be more employment opportunities, but it would be in repetitive jobs, which would then lead to depressed workers, doing the same thing over and over again, until eventually they get sick and die. Therefore, since robots don't get sick and don't die, they are the ones doing the dirty work for us. Furthermore, most of the time, those who struggle to get employed are the ones that need more skill; therefore, decreasing the amount of automation won't increase the employment rate, instead increasing your skill would increase your chances of being employed.
