Story time! Story 1 - My mates and I were visiting the States from England. One of our American friends that we were visiting suggested one of their theme parks with roller coasters. I added we do some edibles beforehand. So that’s what we did, took some while in the parking lot and then made our way in. Less than an hour passed and we were still waiting in line for one of the rides. We could feel the edibles beginning to hit. By the time we got onto the ride and strapped in, the edibles were making everything terrific. A few more coasters later and in the summer heat, and we needed to get something to drink. We tried to act natural but laughter was a bit much and it probably got some looks. Walking up to a concessions stand, the younger girl getting the bottles of drinks from our group’s orders, looked so confused and really we couldn’t tell what she might have been thinking at five guys chuckling at nothing. Fast forward and we’re in a waiting line for another indoor roller coaster ride. This little kid, maybe 10? Asked us what was so funny as we were still giggling for no real reason. His mother had looked over and glared at us; probably knew we were high off our asses. Somehow with quick thinking, one of my mates explains “We’re from England! And we’ve never been to a place like this and it's so much fun!” Satisfied the kid’s curiosity, but the mother was still a little suspicious about our behavior. Thankfully the line moved up and the kid distracted her with questions about the coaster. Overall a great time visiting! Story 2 - One time, I went with my gf’s family. Her younger sister, about 12 at the time, was shaky about the bigger coaster rides. But for whatever reason was determined to ride the largest coaster the park had that she was tall enough to ride. My gf and her mom chickened out when we got in line. So it was just me, the sister and their dad. Like half an hour of waiting, and she was shivering with nervousness by the time we were next in line. Her dad however was playing a simple game of eye-spy and spotting things to distract her. Well it helped enough to get her into the seat between her dad and I. The long draw of climbing up that initial hill had her building back up again. Now I was doing the eye-spy game with her now that we could see all of the park. It lasted until the ride peaked and went. After she ran over to one of the trash cans and threw up. Story 3 - I was about 12, and deathly afraid of roller coasters. We went on a field trip to an amusement park, and my friends were bugging me all day long to just get on a roller coaster. I finally caved right before we had to get on the bus to go home. We're climbing the lift hill and the chain stalls right at the very top. We were stuck there for what seemed like hours (probably less than 5 min) and a worker had to come up and manually restart it. So, not exactly how I was expecting my first roller coaster to go. Story 4 - My identical twin brother and I went to a theme park with our family one spring weekend. We made our way around the park like we normally would, until we got to that self-spinning ride. The ones where you’re in a bowl with the wheel in the middle. You’re supposed to spin the wheel and it spins the bowl you’re sitting in. My brother and I loved to make it go as fast as we could make it go. The only difference that day was we went into our own ride and my brother caught eyes with another pair of identical twin brothers who had the same idea. One of them quickly threw out the idea of making a bet to whoever could make their ride spin the fastest, gets five dollars. We immediately agreed to the bet and the four of us asked our own parents to watch and judge the spring off. As soon as the ride started going around, my brother and I started spinning that wheel and ourselves as fast as we could. We ended up sliding around a bit as we kept going, losing our footholds keeping us in place. Once the ride ended, our heads were spinning and we couldn’t walk straight of course. But both parent groups said we had spun faster and we got that five bucks from them. However, the ride’s employee asked us not to do that again for safety reasons. Story 5 - I (16F) was working at the local amusement park running mostly the concession stands for a summer to save up for a car. I was a good hard worker who did my job and ignored the occasional flirting customers. Right so one day while taking out the garbage towards the end of my shift, I was walking to the dumpsters in the back, away from the park attendees. It was there I could smell pot. I knew the smell from my more hippie-r friend. I come to find our park’s manager smoking a fat joint with a few of the other staff members. I saw them and he saw me. I quickly turned and walked away back to my area. About ten minutes later and he came to see how everything was going for us in concessions. Talking with our lead and eventually asks her the names of the people she’s managing. Acting as if it was a test for her, when really it was him looking to get my name. Leaving that day though I was scared I’d get fired for seeing them. The next week though when we got our paychecks I noticed a substantial bonus amount of a thousand bucks. I didn’t say anything and I only ever saw him a few more times while working that summer. He never said anything and was all manager smiles around everyone. Never saw him or the others hiding back near the dumpster again though. Helped with my car though. Story 6 - It was middle school spring break for my daughter and I took her to Cedar Point, the famous one in that mythical land called Ohio. My daughter loved stuffed animals. But I knew she would want to go straight to the prize games to add to her collection. I really didn’t want us to have to haul them around, so had her take the long way around the park and try out each of the rides that interested her. Killed about five hours until it was close to evening. So we got to the prize games. She managed to win a few smaller stuffed animals; then we went around to the bigger prize game and there was one of those size bean bag chairs that was a frog; it was almost twice her size. She begs me to help her win it, and of course I did because I both loved her and it would piss off her mother, who has been complaining she has too many already. Determined and like forty bucks later, and she was struggling to carry the thing to the car. And yes, her mother was peeved at me as I couldn’t hold in the massive grin our daughter and I were sharing as we brought in the new additions and the giant frog. Story 7 - My son (age four) loves to take his toy Iron Giant robot with him everywhere he went. One day we went to the county fair and we tried one of the rides that spun in a big circle and raised you up and down. My son decided to take the robot with him, hanging it over the edge so it could fly around. And as you might guess, he dropped it, accidentally. He was trying to throw it upwards for it to fly for a moment before falling back down. He shrieked in worry of his toy. Praise the ride attendant who noticed it and actually stopped the ride for a moment to retrieve the toy and hand it back to my son. Recognizing it and mentioning it was one of his favorite movies from when he was a kid. Then continued the ride again. I courteously thanked the guy and palmed his ten bucks as a tip. Brighten both our day. Story 8 - I worked at the games section of the park. One day this family with three boys, two early teenage boys and one who could still be in elementary school. The family started making their rounds to each of the competitive games. The older boys were getting really into it, enough where their mother snapped at them to stop it. The younger one though didn’t win any of the games of course, moping and the dad supporting him. Noticing they were going to get to my stand soon, I decided to give the little one a chance. My game station is the water shooter race, where the participants have to use these two handed water guns and hit the red bullseyes to make their character race across the wall. Each of the water guns have their own water line that could be switched on and off. Or partially close to reduce the water pressure. Thankfully it was slow at my station as the family walked up and I encouraged them to come onto the end, where I nudged the valves to the two teens’ water shooters. I explained the game and let their race begin. The two teen’s water shooters shot out but with a not as strong flow of water to hit the bullseye. However the little one’s shot out just fine, using most of his upper body to hold it in place. His dad was right behind him though. The two teens complained about theirs not working right because theirs wasn’t moving as much. A minute later and the little one won as the other two were just passed halfway. The excitement on the kid’s face was worth the subtle cheating in his favor. I got down his prize he pointed to and they were onto their next game, their dad winking and mouthing a thank you to me. I am a generous game master. Story 9 - I worked theme park security. Once there were these two high schools going around placing something and taking a picture of it and then moving onto another spot. Not exactly suspicious but odd. I asked what in the world they were doing. Turns out they were doing a photography project. Applying scale sizing or something like that. They had a small bag of those Lego characters, an army man, some D&D figures. They would pose them and make the figures look normal sized or giant around the park. Some of their photos were pretty great for what they were doing. I only asked them to be sure not to pose them on anything they know they shouldn't and to be respectful to any of the other guests. That's the end of the video. Hope you enjoyed looking at nature and could say you've seen somewhere new. Please check out our other videos and have a wonderful day!
