Hi, I am Yan. Thanks for giving me this chance to have an interview here. I have been working in the Hong Kong Film Archive for one and a half years in the Acquisition unit. My main responsibility is to arrange and verify acquired items against the FA collections and register the record into MCMS. At my current position as a museum research assistant, I also help compile film lists and respond to copyright enquiries as per request. I’m known for being a reliable and flexible team player, that’s why I have also been assigned roles out of my core duties, such as acquisition trips and location management. The latest project I have been involved in is unpacking those film prints in OIC, and I am sure my overseas experience in Italy Bologna would be helpful when it comes to film prints identification and preservation. During these years working in FA, I understood the large volume and wide range of collections we acquired and how they would be beneficial to different parties. With my background in the acquisition unit, I am ready to take on more responsibilities and contribute to the vision of FA in conserving and promoting as many of the heritages of Hong Kong cinema.
