The first thing you need to do is to identify the type of plug you have. There are three types of plugs: A, B, and C. A plugs are used in North America and some parts of Africa. They have two flat blades or pins that are parallel to each other and a third pin that is perpendicular to the other two. B plugs are used in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. They have two round pins that are parallel to each other with a third pin perpendicular to them on the side of the plug. C plugs are used in India and South Africa. They have three round pins arranged in a triangle shape with one at the top, one on the side, and one at bottom with a fourth pin below it for grounding purposes.
