Hello, and thank you so much for attending our live concert! Before we get started, I wanted to take a moment to go over concert ed-a-kitwith you. The goal of concert ed-a-kit is to ensure that all audience members have a chance to watch a performance free from distractions! You came here to see an amazing concert performance, not to hear a conversation from the people in the row behind you, or to hear somebody else’s ringtone! Here are five quick rules of concert etiquette to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the concert: number 1, Please turn off all cell phones- Cell phones can be a noisy distraction if they go off, but the bright lights of a phone screen can also be a distraction to other audience members and performers. Do yourself a favor, take a moment right now and turn your phone off! Unplug from your electronics for an hour and just enjoy the experience of a live performance. number 2, Please refrain from talking during the performances. Believe it or not, even whispering softly to your neighbor can be a big distraction to others around you. number 3, Please do not use flash photography, and if you decide to video the performances, please make sure your phone isn’t a distraction to other audience members who are trying to watch beside or behind you. number 4, Please do not get up and move around during a performance, if you have to leave the auditorium, please do so between pieces. number 5, When a piece or a performance is over, please show the performers how much you enjoyed it with applause, but please refrain from shouting out names or wolf whistling. Those things, while fun, are more suitable for a sporting event than a concert. If you can follow these simple rules, everyone will have a much more enjoyable concert experience! Thank you so much for watching, and we hope you enjoy the concert!
