Hello, Dear Participants; My name is Hakan DAGHAN. I’m attending to this seminar from Turkey. I’ve been working for Turkish Electricity Transmission Company for 15 years. After having many experiences in different departments of my company, I’ve been working as the metering systems group chief engineer since last 9 years. I’ve a master degree and I’m expecting to complete my PhD degree before the end of this year. As all we know, increasing population, developing cities and industrial infrastructures and changing and developing technology make human being more dependent on chiefly electricity energy and other energy resources. To meet the rising energy demand, researchers, power system planners and operators and all other players seek satisfactory solutions for the problems of modern power systems such as, integration of renewable energy resources, energy efficiency techniques, new generation, transmission and distribution investments, environmental obstacles, some stability and reliability issues etc.. Because fossil fuels are both harmful and insufficient to create a sustainable energy policy for future of the World. Another important reason for this search is that in today’s world, constructing new buildings and new powerplants or new overhead transmission lines are very difficult due to environmental concerns of people, and bureaucratic procedures and of course financial reasons. So when I looked at the concept of this seminar i.e “ new energy construction and operation and maintenance management in developing countries”, I became very happy to attend to this seminar that I would be able to learn new approaches to the modern power systems’ problems which I mentioned above. And now, I’m really so excited to learn how People’s Republic of China react and solve these kinds of problems, and what their future projections and reccomendations for the rest of World. My country, Turkey is one of the rare country in the world for its enegry geopolitcs. Because during whole history, It has always been on the focus of the World for commerce. It’s like a key to solve World wide problems and a bridge to connect all continents, civilizations and cultures to each other. With 82 millions of population and 102 GWh installed capacity, In the near future, Turkey claims to be an energy hub for Europe. So it makes this seminar more meaningful and important for me. I believe so deeply that this seminar will add me more things and I believe that after this seminar, I will be more knowledgeable and more aware of energy systems than I used to be. Thank you, Dear Chinese authorities and the crew of this seminar for giving me the opportunity of attendance and making this speech. And Dear participants, I also thank you for spending your much valuable time to be present here and make this event memorable.
