Tell me about yourself: I am 20 years old, I am currently working part time as a childcare assistant in an out of school program, I am fairly new to Calgary as I just moved here this past summer, and before I moved here I was working part time at a childcare centre and I was also working as a server in a restaurant, my background is mainly in customer service in the restaurant industry and I also have some experience in childcare, I am hoping to get more experience in customer service and sales in the retail industry, which is why I’m excited about the opportunity to be a sales associate at calendar club. Why do you want to work at this company Why I would like at calendar club would be because I am actually the type of person who prefers giving gifts rather than receiving them as its a way for me to show my appreciation to the people I am closest with, and since this is a seasonal position and the holiday season is approaching I anticipate that most customers would be coming to calendar club to buy presents and I would be more than happy to help people with finding the perfect gift for someone as I feel that it would bring make both the customer and myself very happy and I feel that when I am passionate about the work I am doing that I perform better at my job, so this would be a benefit for the customer, myself, and the company. Strengths I would say that my strengths are that I am a self motivated worker and a fast learner so once I go through training and get used to what a typical day is like and become used to the routine and what types of tasks need to be done daily, I am good at getting started on those tasks right away without being asked first and if Iever find myself without anything to do I will ask what kinds of additional tasks can be done and keep those in mind for the future so that I am always working effciently, another strenght of mine would be customer interaction and communication skills when I first started working in customer service this was something that I had to work on a lot as I was very shy and I was provided with a great opportunity when I was working as a dishwasher as I was working behind the bar and my boss at the time encouraged me to chat with the customers at the bar and practice asking them questions and this really helped me to come out of my shell and develop the skills to be able to provide great customer service experiences and also get better at communicating effectively with my coworkers, my last strength would be that I am a very cooperative and collaborative employee and I am always happy to help my coworkers in any way that I am able to and I actually like receiving feedback from my coworkers as I always like to learn new ways to approach things and learn how I can improve upon my skills in order to do better in the future. Weakness I would consider my weakness to be leadership, I am great at working with others but something I would like to improve would be leading others as I am hoping to go into education or interior design in the future and for that to be possible I I will need to work on my leadership skills and push myself out of my comfort zone Why do I want this job? I want this job because as I mentioned previously I would like to gain experience in the retail and sales industry and I lpersonally really enjoy customer interaction and helping to make someones day better by doing something as simple as helping them find what they are looking for. Why should we hire you You should hire me because I have the skills necessary for customer service from working in a similar role and I would be able to provide excellent customer service experinces to the people who come to shop at calendar club in the upcomoing season.
