In 1801 when Great Britain and Ireland came together uniting both kingdoms, passing the Act of Union, to create the United Kingdom. The name before was Britain and the romans kept it as that name. The name it had before was “ Kingdom of Great Britain“. In 1812 there was a war between Britain and the United State, it didn’t stop Till 1814. after the end they both signed the Treaty of Ghent. The United Kingdom gained independence in 1922
