The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing resources as long as possible. Community as a business model is a paradigm shift from a linear to a circular economy. The Village of Peace in Dimona, Israel, often referred to as “a miracle in the desert ”in recognition of its success- Within the perimeters of this unique village, is a successful prototype of sustainability, harmony and happiness - where homelessness and hunger do not exist. Inspired by Kibbutz movement, Shomrey Hashalom Co-operative was founded in 2008, as a response to the financial challenges our community face. We developed a system of sharing and circular economy practices. Built on the idea of a “People-to-People” economy. Put in what you can, take what you need. Community is a human center entity created by people with common values, beliefs and objectives who join efforts and resources to create a better life for its members. Kehilla recognizes this immense potential of a circular economy as a tool for collaborative innovation, enabling communities create an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Global Leaders have recognized the co-operative as an entity to speak to all sustainable development goals. Kehilla introduces communities to the benefits of cooperatives, equip them with the knowledge, tools and experts required to maintain her successfully. Our mission is to fight poverty,unemployment and illiteracy by training and employing 1 million smart workers by 2027. bridging the gap between skills acquisition and gainful employment. We plan to raise the awareness of co-operatives and the opportunities they create - to disadvantaged communities and assist them with access to info, tools and experts needed to ensure their success. Current community management tools are basic, these tools provide limited social media features, and information sharing tools. Designed as the ultimate community management tool to help communities quantum leap their financial growth, Kehilla is a community- as-a-service cloud platform built to help communities innovate impactful growth via the development of their human resources. The grant would enable us realize our objectives in a fast paced manner, spearheading the development of a circular economy in the region.
