In April 2022, 40 students conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment on the environmental consequences of December 2021 unprecendented flooding events in Hulu Langat and the furthr impacts on a series of proposed hypothetical developments in the area. The students had been prepared for field-based environmental investigation methodologies, environmental impact assessment, site investigation techniques, safety in practice (including a field trip first-aid training course), and applicable field sampling and analytical design and execution prior to embarking on the field trip. The students then presented their findings via individual report submissions and group presentations that were planned to mock Public Debates in real-life Environmental Impact Assessment processes.
