Hello, my name is Stephen Hawking. I was born in Oxford, United Kingdom on January 8th, 1942 and went to Oxford and Cambridge university. I was a theoretical physicist and was best known for my discoveries of the big bang and studies on black holes. I wrote a book about these discovery in A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes. It was published in 1988 and solded 1 million copies. It was a best seller in the United States. Since the 1960’s I have faced the adversity of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) Which made me lose my ability to walk and speak. I was in a motorized wheelchair and had to use a voice box for the rest of my life. It didn’t stop me and with my wife JAne wilde making me happy, it inspired me to keep pushing scientific discovery and not to give up on life. I won the Copley Medal from the Royal Society and the U.S presidential medal of freedom.I died March 14, 2018, in Cambridge, United Kingdom, but I hope my life inspires you not to give up on life and to discovery new things. It’s ok to go outside of your comfort zone. I did and I couldn't be happier.
