Environmental awareness is critical because it can help to minimise pollution and global warming. It can also lead to a more sustainable world by promoting renewable resources such as solar, wind, and water. Environmental awareness had been continuously increasing in many places in the second half of the last century, in both governmental and public wise. IPCC The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. IPCC assessments and special reports are prepared by three Working Groups, at a different aspect of the science related to climate change: Working Group I (Physical Science Basis), Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability), and Working Group III (Mitigation of Climate Change). The new Working Group II report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will provide policymakers with a clear view of the state and threat of global climate change. The IPCC report 2022 warned that the world is set to reach the 1.5ºC level within the next two decades and said that only the most drastic cuts in carbon emissions from now would help prevent an environmental disaster. Taking the high-carbon pathway, the worst of the scenarios, would see global temperatures rise by more than 4ºC by the end of the century. To add some perspective to that scenario, the world has not seen temperature increases of more than 2.5ºC over such a short space of time for more than 3 million years. IPCC report 2022 says: we need to start recycling, and using green energy to power our homes. the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change gave prominence to three special aspects: Use of fossil fuels should be abandoned as soon as possible, as a matter of urgency. Changes in out diet habits. To get into a more sustainable diet, is necesary to be willing to reduce the demand for meat and dairy. Greener cities. The traditional urban organisation must change as soon as possible towards sustainable and more environmentally friendly urban planning. The following four social organisations Y4D, Chintan environmental research and action group, SankalpTaru and Environmentalist foundation of India seeks to protect, analyse or monitor the environment against misuse or degradation from human forces Y4D as a social organisation works towards maintaining a healthy, natural environment by protection, preservation, management, or restoration of natural resources and the ecological communities that inhabit them, in the following ways: Plantation Drive- Go green Initiative, Heritage Conservation Drive, Clean Festival Drive, Development of Man Made forest, Water bodies cleanliness drive. And also always stays at the forefront of disaster response and support in the form of immediate survival of the affected, awareness to avoid panic and prevention from spread. Y4D works towards Disaster response includes Fight Health Pandemic, Flood relief Support, Drought Relief Support. Chintan endeavours to lessen surplus waste, promote sustainable consumption and facilitate better waste management. They also raise their voice against air pollution by creating awareness. The primary purpose of promoting sustainable consumption and waste management is to provide resources for the marginalised sections of society. SankalpTaru is an e-NGO, which aims at promoting tree plantations across the country. The plantation drive is run on a digital platform, allowing SankalpTaru to use innovative technologies such as GPS-tagging. Through this method, volunteers can track the progress of plantation drives. So far, millions of trees have been planted since SankapTaru’s inception in 2013. EFI has revived and ecologically restored several freshwater lakes and ponds across the country since 2007 and believes in revisiting them through community-based collaborative conservation efforts. The organisation works in over 14 Indian states, including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, and Karnataka.
