Perception It was a precious diamond ring. It has gone missing from the morning and she couldn’t control her emotions. This ring was specially gifted by her husband few years back on a valentine’s day to express his love. Since then she has been protecting with utmost care and respect. However, she couldn’t find it from the morning and was stressed that she couldn’t eat or speak this with anybody. Her eyes then rested on the maid who was cleaning the house. “Ah… What if she had stolen the ring?” a thought flashed in her mind and began to watch the behavior of maid minutely. The maid’s all actions such as her behavior, talking, mannerisms, laughs and everything pointed out clearly that she was the culprit and the ring should be in her possession. The maid had been trusted companion all these years and has been working in their home since their marriage. How could she attempt this theft? After all she has financially helped several times to the maid to support her kids pay the school fees. Her heart was raging with betrayal. She thought of calling the police but resisted a while. She changed her mind to offer her a chance whether she returns the ring by herself without asking. So, she didn’t complain and didn’t even inform her husband that the ring has gone missing. She couldn’t sleep well that night as she was thinking only about the ring and the maid. Will the maid come back tomorrow or will she escape without informing anybody? While waking up in the morning she found that something is protruding in the bed. She quickly realized that it is her lost ring. She was ecstatic and thanked to the god for returning the ring to her. Meanwhile, the maid came to work that morning. Having got back the ring, she again started to watch the maid minutely. Now, the maid’s all actions such as her behavior, talking, mannerisms, laugh and everything pointed out clearly that she is genuine and honest. There is honesty in each her action. See what happened. The maid’s actions yesterday and today didn’t change, but the perception is. What if a police complaint was registered which could have easily destroyed the trust that both had built over these years? During tough situations take some time to relax and don’t make decisions in haste. The perception matters.
