Once upon a time in the era of the kings and queens. There was a kingdom that had the richest royals of all! It was the kingdom of Xernea. The royals consisted of: King Samson, Queen Gloria and Prince Aiden. Prince Aiden was a very disciplined fellow, he obeyed what his parents told him to, he performed all his duties as the prince and he was always very respectful and he always dressed in the most splendid robes. One day, King Samson was asked by his wife, Queen Gloria to look into Prince Aiden's marriage. So, King Samson sent his soldier to get the list of different princesses. After 4 weeks the guard came back with the list. King Samson started reading through the paper when his eyes fell upon Princess Audrey from Xylem. Xylem was one of if not the most powerful kingdom! They owned a lot of land. So, knowing that a marriage with this powerful kingdom would do good. He ordered his soldier to bring his son over to the throne room. The guard left and brought back Prince Aiden. "You called me, father?" "Yes, son. I have been looking into your marriage." "Oh?" "Yes, son. I have found this girl, Princess Audrey from the kingdom of Xylem. Would you like to marry her?" "I shall do whatever you want me to do, father." So, King Samson sends his son down to his mother to ask for his mother's permission to marry this girl. Once she heard that the Xylem royal family was very powerful, she couldn't refuse. So, King Samson sent word to Xylem that they were coming over for a marriage proposal and they were visiting there in 6 days. Now, for a bit of info on Xylem... In the kingdom of Xylem, things were wacky. This royal family consists of King Sargon, Queen Avyanna and Princess Audrey. Princess Audrey was a very chill girl, she obeyed nothing her parents told her, she performed none of her princess duties and instead took her time to roam the streets, and she was very hard-headed and always joking around and she dressed very simple, nothing too fancy, but nothing too bland either. And, she always had the biggest smile on her face. It was like a once in a blue moon occurence to see Princess Audrey without her smile. When she recieved the news about this marriage proposal. Her parents started panicking if they're daughter could match the standards of these high and rich family. Since, she was nowhere near a disciplined girl. They told her so many times to "Be careful!", "Watch your every step", "Be polite", "Be kind", "Don't be clumsy", "Put on your BEST behaviour" 2 days before the Xernean royals were gonna visit Xylem. Audrey's mother gave her a mountain of dresses to wear and her servants dragged her away kicking and screaming that she didn't like dresses. But, what choice did she have? When her servants brought out a corset, she whimpered. But, when her servants put that corset on her and pulled the little strings, ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. Audrey screamed like a demon and all the servants jumped! Dress after dress after dress after dress. It was so boring. Finally, they descided on this one purple dress. Her parents kept giving her compliments saying she looked beutiful but, she didn't care. Finally, when the Xernean royals arrived King Samson and Queen Gloria were busy talking to King Sargon and Queen Avyanna. Aiden left to explore the castle. He kept walking until his parents called him back inside. As soon as he walked back in his father asked Queen Avyanna a question: "Where is Princess Audrey?" "Audrey? Let me just get her." Queen Avyanna replied. "Audrey! Darling, can you come down here?" Queen Avyanna yelled to hopefully reach her daughters room. "Why?" Audrey yelled back. "Our guests are here." Queeen Avyanna yelled back. "C-coming, mom!" Audrey yelled. A couple of minutes later, Aiden saw Audrey running down the stairs and for a second he felt time stop, he felt like there were no other people on Earth, just her and him. He stared at her long black locks, her dark yet, still bright blue eyes shimmering like the sun. 'Wait a minute' he thought suddenly snapping back out of his daze. 'Why? why am I thinking like this? why am I feeling like this?' he wondered. He looked back up and saw that his father was now talking to Princess Audrey when he stood up and stood next to Aiden. "Princess Audrey. I would like you to meet my son, Prince Aiden." "Pleasure to meet you, your highness." Princess Audrey said bowing to Prince Aiden with the most utter respect. Though, secretly she was trying to hold back her laughter. Aiden started stammering. "H-hello. I-it's a p-pleasure to greet you. I mean, meet you!" Goodness, he was so embarrased. Audrey started to stare at him. Though, she knew little about manners and being polite, she knew that what Aiden said was not 'mannered' at all. King Samson also started staring at him and he realized it! He asked his son "Can I talk to you for a minute?" "Sure, father." Aiden replied "I know you like her." King Samson whispered when they were standing apart from everybody. "Like her? Father, I'm afraid you've gotten the wrong idea. I don't like her." Aiden said taken aback at his fathers statement. "Oh, is that so? Well, my dear son, tell me, why were you staring at her like that?" King Samson asked giving him a cheeky grin. "Um. Uhhhh." Prince Aiden didn't know what to say. "Just as I thought." King Samson said. "Fine, I'll admit it. I l-like her." Aiden replied with a slight blush on his face. After this, they went to dinner. It was wonderful and almost 97.75% of the time (the rest of the time he spent eating), Aiden was staring at Audrey. One part of him was hoping that she would notice him staring at her, when an another part of him wasn't hoping she would notice. Well, unfortunately or fortunately, Audrey noticed and she was very uncomfortable about the fact that this boy was staring at her with this weird expression. Because, even though, he liked her, she did not like him back, to be honest, to her he seemed kinda weird. After a splendid dinner of awkward tension. The royals of Xernea were going to stay at Xylem for 3 days! Even though, to Aiden that seemed wonderful, to Audrey that didn't seem that great since, she didn't wanna be stared at for 3 days. She wanted to tell her parents to get this family out but, something inside her told her to stop and that she should wait. During the night, Aiden was screaming at himself for being such a nervous wreck. He decided that from the next day on he was going to be completely chill around her. The next day, suprisingly, Audrey woke up before the sun, which was rare. So, since, she didn't wanna get back to bed, she got dressed (in her simple clothes, not the fancy purple dress she wore during the dinner!) She sat down in the courtyard staring at the sky completely in a daze. She only snapped out of it when she felt a hand on her shoulder. When she turned around, she was taken aback! It was Aiden! "Why are you here?" Audrey asked him. "I could say the same here, why are you at the courtyard staring at the sky?" Aiden asked. "None of your buisness!" she snapped at him. 'Feisty, aren't you?' he thought. "Anyway, may I sit next to you?" he asked. "Uh, sure." Audrey said, shuffling to the side, to give him space. Aiden sat down beside her and stretched his legs out. "Hey, can I ask you something?" Aiden asked. "Sure, go ahead." Audrey replied, curious. "I was wondering, if we could play a little game. I ask you 3 questions to get to know you and you get to do the same to me. To get to know eachother better." Aiden suggested. "Oh, okay!" Audrey said since, it seemed like fun! This is a boy she might get married to after all, why not know more about him? They started with Aiden's turn to ask questions to Audrey... "What are your likes and dislikes?" "I like: rain, flowers and ofcourse my people! I can't really think of any dislikes." "Cool! Well, what do you do as a hobby?" "Well, I like painting and...I usually go on walks around the city." "Um... how is Xylem like?" "It's amazing! You know, I should take you around some time." "Really? That'd be great!" "Now it's my turn." "What are YOUR likes and dislikes?" "I like: my friends, my people, my family. and I hate...I can't think of anything either." "Okay...what is Xernea like?" "It's really pretty. I should take you sometime as well." "Okay...how are your parents?" "They're really amazing! They're the soul reason I exist after all!" Aiden said giving her a smile. Suddenly, all the thoughts inside her decipated when Aiden gave her that smile. And she felt like they could actually may get along after all.
