Lets quickly have an overview of Cirrhosis. First of all, there is hepatocellular injury due to many aetiologies, causing inflammation. This leads to activation of Hepatic stellate cells and causes its proliferation to myofibroblast-like cells. Upon activation, these cells causes deposition of type 1 and 3 collagen in space of Disse. This causes sinusoidal capillarization. The lost area of Hepatocyte gets transformed into dense fibrous septa and the surviving hepatocytes gets encircled by fibrous septa. At least we would have a look at the histopathology of Cirrhosis. The stain used here is Masson Trichome Stain , this one is important from exam point of view. The dense thick fibrous septa is stained purplish blue. We can see the fibrous bands encircling healthy surviving hepatocytes. So, this was all for today. I hope you all enjoyed it well .
