War had arrived. Canadians from everywhere, Proud to serve their country. There morals high with ignition, Excitement and patriotism. There was no thought of the long years Of death or destruction ahead. Of the starvation, exhaustion, disease, And the endless screams of the battle lines. They fought for the protection Of their countries rights and freedoms. In remembering of all who served, we wear a poppy. We give recognition to many willing soldiers Who endured the hardships and the fear, So that future generations could live in peace. We wear a poppy in appreciation Of those who fought so valiantly. To show that we are proud of are soldiers Who risked their lives to stand For are peace and freedom. It is the least we can do, if not for them, What dismay would the world hold today?
