Borders College is delighted to have recently welcomed Patrick Harvie, MSP, Minister for Zero Carbon Buildings, Active Travel and Tenants’ Rights, to its Hoick campus. The purpose of the Minister’s visit was to hear about the College’s net zero ambitions and look at the courses, skills, and projects happening within the College. The Minister was given a tour of the campus’s award-winning facilities and got the chance to speak with staff, students and young people about the renewables training courses on offer. Speaking at the event, Mr Harvie said: “Colleges are a fundamental part of the process to delivering a net zero future for Scotland, and it’s great to see how Borders College is taking on the challenges. “Educational institutions like the College have a special responsibility in terms of teaching current and future generations about low carbon technology, and I hope that the Scottish Government will push to the limits of what is possible to support this.”
