There is a war among us. Dangerous creatures that we can’t see and surrounds us. I’m talking about microbes! How do we fight this war? With proper hand hygiene. Microbes or germs can live on inanimate surfaces for a long period of time. Take E-coli for instance, this gram-negative bacterium can live on surfaces for up to 16 months. Or MRSA a gram-positive bacterium that can live up to 7 months on surfaces. Then there are bacterial spores such as C-diff or Mycobacterium tuberculosis which can stay on surfaces for up to 4 months. Hand hygiene such as using hand sanitizer is and easy and effective way to help stop transmission of microbes.
