It was the year 1763, which marked the end of the French and Indian war. England had just created the stamp act as a tax on the colonist, which was a tax on newspapers and legal documents to cover the cost of war. This angered colonist and led to many colonist boycotting British goods as a protest to the tax. This only worsened the situation, and in 1766, England passes the Declaratory Act saying they will tax the colonist whenever they want to. The road to the American Revolution had begun.
