The Power of an Idea Throughout history, ideas have proven to be one of the most powerful tools in the human psyche. Ideas such as democracy, freedom, and truth have inspired people to fight for them and create a better world. In many ways, ideas are the driving force behind mankind; without them, life would be far less exciting and far less meaningful. Ideas have the power to change people's lives for the better- whether they're creating new businesses or transforming people's beliefs. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. used his idea of non-violent resistance to help transform an unjust society into something more inclusive and democratic. Gandhi used his idea of peaceful civil disobedience to overcome British rule and create a better nation for his fellow citizens. Even time itself depends on human ideas; technologies like cell phones, computers, and satellites wouldn't exist without the persistence of these ideas. Ideas can also power nations and industries through economic growth and prosperity. For example, America grew economically after it pursued independence from Great Britain via the Revolutionary War. Furthermore, America's economic growth led to international capital as many other countries created similar industries. Through cooperation, ideas have helped nations build prosperous industries that benefit everyone involved. No matter how large or small an idea is, everyone can improve their life by coming up with one. Many people find inspiration in the works of great thinkers such as Albert Einstein and Buddha; both of them created new ideas that have changed history forever. Others use social media to spread their thoughts to a wider audience so others can learn from them. Regardless of how you choose to use your ideas, you'll always have power over your life; without them, you'd be unable to reach your goals in any way possible. Ideas are powerful mental tools that affect everyone's life in profound ways. They can shape nations and industries alike; however, anyone can improve their life by coming up with new ideas. Without them, mankind would stagnate and lose hope of achieving any goals. Motivation: Why it is So Important and How to Achieve It Motivation is a concept that has been widely discussed throughout history. From ancient Greece to the 20th century, philosophers, psychologists, and saints have written chapters on the subject. However, there is still no universally agreed definition of motivation. In general, the word 'motivation' refers to the impetus or inspiration that prompts an individual to take certain decisions. Basically, it is what drives us and makes us who we are. In other words, without motivation, humanity would not be able to progress as it does. It has proven to be a powerful driving force behind technological innovation and countless other creations. Interestingly enough, many eminent figures in history have contributed to the understanding of this concept- from Aristotle to Descartes and Ibn Sina to Einstein. Clearly, the power of motivation is undeniable. The concept of motivation has been discussed extensively in psychology texts in recent years. One major concept discussed in the field is self-motivation. This term refers to taking responsibility for one's own actions and decisions. To that end, self-motivators are conscious of their emotions and decide on their own whether they are inspired or unmotivated. Essentially, they are aware of their current level of motivation and decide whether they need help or not. On top of that, self-motivators are willing to seek help when needed; they do not blame others for their failures. Besides motivation being important it is crucial when considering time management. Essentially, how an individual manages his time directly impacts his productivity and success in life. Effective time management entails planning one's daily activities effectively and managing one's tasks efficiently. Therefore, planning one's daily schedule effectively is an integral part of being motivated and managing one's time well. The fact that such a complex topic as motivation has so much philosophical discourse proves just how important it is in our lives. Regardless of whether one opts to deem its value or criticize it as arrogance or escape from reality, there is no denying that motivation drives our actions and decisions without question. That being said, there are many ways to achieve this difficult goal, making it even more difficult to pinpoint exactly what it is that will help achieve this goal in the first place.
