When considering the equity of Home Automation equipment and systems, the most important aspect to look at is availability and affordability. Home Automation equipment is not cheap. Due to this, often times the homes that require these levels of security aren’t able to afford them. Lower-income housing is not afforded the opportunity to protect themselves as well as middle to upper-class society which is aggravating. Home security businesses need to devise a plan for lowering the cost of their equipment, and the cost of their services. I truly believe that if this disparity can be rectified, not only will the crime rates in many areas drastically decrease, but the security and general welfare of its occupants will increase. People thrive in healthy, secure, and positive environments. Home Automation and Security systems have the capability of pushing society in the right direction.
