The British brand's entry into electric vehicles marks the start of a new chapter in the company's story, as it expects to convert all of its cars to electric vehicles by 2030. Rolls-Royce hasn't revealed the specs of its Spectre EV, though it's in the final stages of testing, but preliminary figures suggest it can travel 520km/h and 97km/h on a single charge in 4.4 seconds. Speaking at the awards ceremony, Rolls-Royce chief executive Torsten Mueller-Otworth said: "What you see next to me is the Ghost Rolls-Royce, the first all-electric car in history. .We have been working on this project for a long time and now we are in the final stage where we have the technology to allow the car to charge autonomously for a distance of 520 km. The Spectre's all-aluminum frame integrates the battery into the body, making it 30 percent stronger than any previous Rolls-Royce. Rolls-Royce will begin testing the Spectre in September/September 2021, with the company confirming it has tested the car extensively for 2.5 million kilometers. However, the launch of the new car comes amid a cost of living crisis in the UK and much of the world. According to Rolls-Royce, the design of the two-door sports car was inspired by nautical design and contemporary art, but automotive journalist Nick Myers had his own ideas: "It's definitely a mix of traditional Rolls-Royce and modern design, "He says. Rolls-Royce aims to deliver the first Spectre models to customers in the last quarter of 2023. The company has yet to announce official pricing. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, a subsidiary of the BMW Group, employs more than 2,000 people at its headquarters in Goodwood, southern England.
