Good evening. We welcome you to Charlie's Forex Analysis NFP discussion. So now, what about NFP, what is it? The nonfarm payroll employment rate (NFP) is a compiled measure of employment in US goods, construction, and manufacturing companies. Farm workers, household employees, and nonprofit employees are not included. As part of a comprehensive report on the state of the labor market, the U.S. Department of Labor releases this influential economic indicator monthly. Among the financial assets most affected by the nonfarm payroll (NFP) data are the US dollar, equities, and gold. Around the time the NFP data is released, the markets react quickly and most of the time in a very volatile manner. The short-term market moves indicate that there is a very strong correlation between the NFP data and the strength of the US dollar. So when does it happen? On the third Friday following the reference week, that is, the week that includes the 12th of the month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases preliminary data at 8:30 a.m. This usually happens on the first Friday of each month. The US dollar, foreign exchange markets, bond markets, and stock markets are affected by nonfarm payrolls, which are included in the monthly Employment Situation report. In addition to farm workers being excluded from nonfarm payrolls, there are several other categories that the BLS does not include. Approximately 80% of the U.S. GDP comes from nonfarm employee classifications, according to the BLS. Additionally, to farm workers, there are some notable exclusions from this large majority of U.S. laborers. Thanks for your attention. We will talk to you sooner.
