Hello guys and welcome to this video. We will be running few tests on Koch Chemei P6 and Rupes Uno Protect. Both products are designed to deliver polish and protection properties. The test panel we are working on today is from a 2005 Seat Leon. As you can see, the spoiler has seen better days. It is scratched and oxidized. The back of the spoiler seems to be in a good condition as it’s been hidden from the sun and contact with the elements. This panel may be too weathered, but that’s the point. To see which product is best for each scenario. I did a full wash and decontamination off camera. If you wish to see how I clean and detail the surface, check my other videos for full motorcycle detailing or orange peel correction. I’ll leave a link in the description for the videos. the products will be tested on three different surfaces: - Oxidized Paint. - Good condition Paint. - Sanded Paint. Also, I will use medium and hard pads on each product in sequence and on different sections to determine which combination is better. I wanted to try the products with finishing pad to see the actual chemical reaction of each product. Both products showed very minimal effect when applied by hand. So, if you do not have a polishing machine, these products may not be the best choice for you. Moving on to the actual test I’ll be using Proxxon Mini rotary polisher. It will be running at 2,000 rpm approximately. First, I will use a medium pad as recommended by both manufacturers. Starting off with Koch Chemei P6 on Oxidized paint with medium pad. The paint looks better but it did not make a significant difference. RUPES Uno did much better job with the medium pad. The improvement is visible and you can actually see the metallic paint starting to show under the clear coat again. Switching to the hard pad and repeating the same process, Koch Chemei P6 improved the clarity and the shine dramatically. Still hazy but certainly better. Rupes Uno did not do quite as good with the hard pad but still has the best results when applied using a medium pad. I will do the second test on the back of the spoiler where the paint is in average condition. It has some surface and deep scratches but no oxidation whatsoever. Let’s see how the products will perform. I’ll split the spoiler into two sections using tape and test the products with a Hard pad. P6 managed to remove all the surface scratches, most of the deep scratches and improved clarity. Here’s a close up. With Rupes Uno you can still see some surface scratches still visible but the depth of the color and the shine is brilliant. Here’s a close up on Rupes Uno side. Last but not least, let’s see how both products will perform on sanded paint. First, I will sand the surface with 1500 grit sanding paper. After few passes, I got an even matt sheen. I’ll use the hard pad then medium pad. I’ll do two passes with each pad on each section and then compare the results. Once done, I did a quick IPA wipe and here it is guys. Both products did a great job on different levels. Koch Chemei removed the majority of the scratches while you can see some watermarks and oxidation still barely visible. On the other hand, Rupes Uno removed the oxidation completely and improved the shine but did not manage to remove the sanding marks. Now let’s check our score board. In conclusion, Rupes gave great results on oxidized and good paint. Which makes it perfect for softer paint and daily-use vehicle owners who want to spend less time and money maintaining their vehicles. On the other hand, you can see that Koch Chemei has better cut and finish when it comes to sanded or scratched paint. It managed to eliminate the majority of the scratches and give a nice subtle shine to the surface. I hope you enjoyed the video, please share your thoughts with us in the comments below and we will see you soon.
