Greetings to everyone gathered here on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, I Aarav heartily welcome you to celebrate this momentous day along with us. On October 2nd, every year India celebrates as Gandhi Jayanti in remembrance and honour of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. This is the 153rd birth anniversary Mahatma Gandhi, he was born in 1869 on October 2nd in Porbandar, Gujarat. In the age of 24 when he first left India to study law in South Africa where for the first time encountered inequality due to his race and colour, and was thrown out of the train because he didn’t resemble his white co-passengers. When Gandhiji returned to India, he soon became active in the ongoing freedom struggle of India. He did not like that the great nation of India was a colony, ruled by the British, but he did not want a violent war to decide the outcome of the nation. He implemented his nonviolent against the British for freedom of India Hence, he was given the title of Mahatma. Mahatma means great soul. Gandhiji was one of the biggest contributors of India's freedom movement. So, he is even called the Father of our Nation. That is why his legacy is honoured, not only in India but all over the world.
